The number on a Goldback indicates its denomination and reflects its precise fractional gold content, measured in thousandths of a troy ounce.
2 Anti-Counterfeiting Features
All Goldbacks are created with advanced anti-counterfeiting measures. These include intricate artwork, UV reactive ink, and a raised reversed image on the back.
3 Serial Number
Each Goldback has a unique serial number for easy authentication.
4 Mintage year
The mintage year represents the year of production. New mintages are released annually for each state series.
5 Gold Content
The fractional weight is listed at the bottom of each Goldback to verify the gold content inside.
